Living in Felixstowe
Felixstowe is a peaceful and friendly seaside town, which has an attractive coast line which stretches for over 4 miles. The town boasts a Blue Flag beach and traditional promenade with beautiful gardens, an attractive town centre and tranquil nature reserves.
Felixstowe’s main seafront is characterised by the 2 miles of promenade which sweeps around a picturesque bay. The front is decorated by a number of beautiful gardens which are blazed with colour and rare and exciting plants throughout the most of the year, as a result Felixstowe has been given the name of “The Garden Resort of the East Coast”. The seafront also offers traditional seaside fun and is home to many leisure facilities and amenities including arcades and funfairs. The hub of the seafront is centred around the pier which offers an array of bright lights, amusements, gift shops and fast food outlets. The beaches along the promenade have been enjoyed by families for decades and are a brilliant place for picnics, sandcastle building and sunbathing.
Further down the coast away from the busy seafront is Landguard Point, considered a place to forget the hustle and bustle and somewhere to reflect, learn and look. It is home to Landguard Fort, a scheduled ancient monument and major visitor attraction with a proud history. The area also features a 58 acre Nature Reserve which includes rare fauna and flora and also attracts many species of migrant birds.
