Operations Coordinator – Graduate Opportunity, Ipswich £21,000

An innovative international service provider is currently seeking to appoint a commercially aware, analytical and logical thinking individual to join their operations team as an Operations Coordinator. Strong A=level results and excellent GCSE’s will be required (or the equivalent).

This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a dynamic operational role, covering a wide scope of accountabilities. The successful applicant will play a key and detailed service role with major UK companies.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Control, plan and monitor the daily traffic sheet.
  • Ensure quality service provision to customers with optimisation of the rail capacity and cost-effective utilisation of vehicle resources.
  • To ensure any deviation to plan is notified early and in full to customer service departments.
  • To ensure completeness of control throughout the job order cycle.
  • To follow up on root causes of service issues with a view to implementing continuous improvement.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Mathematical degree (or the equivalent), or educated to degree level in an analytical based subject
  • Strong A level results (or the equivalent).
  • Excellent GCSE’s (or the equivalent).
  • Excellent numerical skills and attention to detail
  • Strong computer skills with a working knowledge of Excel
  • Some interest or experience in programming Visual Basic, Excel macros or Python
  • Must have a “can do” attitude
  • The ability to thrive in a dynamic working environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
