Time Appointments are delighted to be working on behalf of a thriving business based in Southend, which is currently recruiting for a passionate and commercially aware People Advisor to support its busy HR function on a 12-month fixed-term contract. Applicants must have generalist HR experience to be considered for this exciting opportunity.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications Required:

  • Demonstrable HR Advisory or People Advisory experience gained in a professional environment.
  • Thorough understanding of current UK employment legislation, HR policies and best practice.
  • CIPD qualified.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including emotional intelligence.
  • Exceptional levels of accuracy and attention to detail, with the ability to work effectively in a busy environment.
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise daily tasks effectively.
  • Ability to use own initiative and work independently when required.

 

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide day-to-day HR advice and guidance to managers and employees on a broad range of employee relations matters.
  • Support the management of ER cases, including absence, performance, conduct, capability, grievances and disciplinary matters.
  • Provide accurate and timely HR administration across the employee lifecycle, from joining through to leavers.
  • Maintain and update employee records and HR systems, ensuring data is accurate, complete and compliant with data protection requirements.
  • Support the implementation, review and ongoing management of HR policies and procedures.
  • Ensure HR processes are applied consistently and in line with relevant UK employment legislation, company policies and best practice.
  • Support the recruitment process from vacancy approval through to offer and onboarding.
  • Work closely with hiring managers and recruiters to coordinate interviews, candidate communication and pre-employment checks.
  • Assist with the preparation of employment documentation, contracts and offer paperwork.
  • Coordinate new starter onboarding activities, ensuring employees have the information, system access and documentation required to start successfully.
  • Provide accurate and timely HR input into the monthly payroll process.
  • Maintain and check payroll-related employee information, including starters, leavers, salary changes, contractual amendments, benefits and absence information.
  • Support the delivery of a range of HR and People projects aligned with wider business objectives.
  • Identify opportunities to improve HR processes, systems and the employee experience.
