Job Description

We are recruiting on behalf of well-established family run business who are looking a organised, motivated and personable Sales & Transport Administrator. You will be responsible for coordinating customer orders and helping to ensure that deliveries are organised efficiently and run smoothly.

You will work closely with customers, drivers, suppliers and colleagues across the business, making this a varied role where good communication and attention to detail are essential.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Processing and coordinating customer orders accurately and efficiently
  • Liaising with customers by telephone and email to answer queries and provide updates
  • Organising and coordinating delivery schedules
  • Communicating with drivers and assisting with the day-to-day transport operation
  • Preparing delivery paperwork and maintaining accurate records
  • Monitoring deliveries and dealing promptly with any issues or changes
  • Updating customers regarding delivery times and order information
  • Assisting with sales administration and maintaining customer records
  • Producing reports and completing general administrative tasks
  • Working closely with other departments to ensure orders are processed and delivered on time
  • Helping to maintain a high standard of customer service at all times
  • Being able to review and analyse tachograph data and infringements, ensuring issues are identified and recorded
  • Book vehicles into workshops for MOTs, inspections, servicing, and repairs

 

Previous Skills & Experience:

  • Monitor Working Time Directive compliance across the business and identify potential breaches or areas of concern.
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
  • Confident communicating with customers, drivers and colleagues
  • Comfortable working in a busy, fast-paced environment
  • Able to prioritise and manage multiple tasks effectively
  • Proactive, reliable and willing to take responsibility
  • Confident using Microsoft Office and computer-based systems
  • Professional and friendly with a strong customer-service approach
  • A good team player who is happy to get involved and support colleagues when needed

 

Previous experience in sales administration, transport administration, logistics, scheduling or customer service would be advantageous, although they are also happy to consider candidates with the right attitude and transferable skills.
