Time Appointments are working on behalf of a fantastic, well-established client and specialist in their field, who are looking to welcome an Accounts Assistant to their friendly team based in Clacton-on-Sea.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced, highly motivated and detail-oriented finance professional who is looking to develop their career within a supportive and collaborative environment.
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting a range of accounting functions, including purchase ledger, sales ledger and general ledger activities, whilst ensuring the day-to-day finance operations run smoothly and accurately.

Key Duties & Responsibilities Include:
- Processing purchase and sales invoices accurately and efficiently
- Managing purchase ledger and sales ledger transactions
- Matching, coding and processing invoices and dealing with supplier queries
- Raising sales invoices and allocating customer payments
- Reconciling supplier and customer accounts
- Assisting with bank reconciliations and general ledger postings
- Processing payments and supporting credit control activities
- Assisting with month-end procedures and financial reporting
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records
- Investigating and resolving account discrepancies
- Assisting with VAT returns and other routine accounting requirements
- Providing general administrative support to the wider finance team
- Working collaboratively with colleagues across the business to ensure financial processes are completed accurately and on time

Skills & Experience Required:
- Previous experience in an Accounts Assistant or similar finance role
- Good knowledge of purchase ledger, sales ledger and general ledger processes
- Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy
- Good understanding of basic accounting principles and financial processes
- Confident using Microsoft Excel and accounting software, preferably Sage 50
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently while also being a proactive team player
- A methodical and organised approach to work
- The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn and develop
