Job Description

We are proud to be recruiting on behalf of an industry-leading client who is looking to appoint an experienced Compliance Supervisor to strengthen their growing team.

 

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role within the business, ensuring all works are delivered right first time and in line with specification, project requirements and internal management systems.

 

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Proven experience in a compliance, quality, or supervisory role within highways, civil engineering, or infrastructure projects
  • Experience in materials compliance, testing, and traceability within a construction or highways environment.
  • Familiarity with audit processes, inspections, and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Relevant qualification in civil engineering, construction management, or a related discipline
  • SMSTS or SSSTS certification
  • A valid CSCS card
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with clients, site teams, and stakeholders
  • Sound understanding and awareness of industry standards, health & safety regulations, and best practices
  • Full UK driving licence

 

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing compliance across operations, including materials production, supply, and on-site delivery activities.
  • Ensuring materials, workmanship, and construction processes meet relevant specifications, contract requirements, and company procedures
  • Monitoring quality, conformity, and full traceability of materials, including inspection records, test results, and supporting documentation.
  • Supporting and promoting compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards across all highways works and associated activities.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date compliance records to support audits, inspections, and client reviews.
  • Identifying non-conformances, implementing and tracking corrective actions, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Building and maintaining effective working relationships with clients, project teams, and key stakeholders, ensuring compliance requirements are clearly communicated and proactively managed
  • Liaising with internal departments, subcontractors, suppliers, and delivery partners to ensure all compliance obligations are consistently achieved.
  • Providing effective leadership and support to site teams, ensuring high standards of performance, compliance, and accountability
  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients, principal contractors, and supply chain partners
  • Reporting observations and near misses, support incident investigations, and carry out root cause analysis to ensure effective corrective actions are implemented.
  • Undertaking site-specific risk assessments and ensure appropriate control measures are in place to enable safe and compliant delivery of works.
